Buyer Safety
Version 3 · Effective 22/9/2026
Buyers are responsible for their own due diligence
Perfume Marketplace is a listing and connection service. We do not own, sell, inspect, or authenticate any product listed on the Platform, and we are not a party to any transaction. Every purchase you make through a connection formed on the Platform is a direct transaction between you and the seller, at your own risk.
Before you pay or accept a product, we recommend you
- Check the seller's profile — how long they've been a member, their rating and number of reviews, completed sales, and whether their email and mobile number are verified.
- Ask questions and request extra photos — of the bottle, batch code, box, and receipt if available — before agreeing to buy, especially for higher-value items.
- Verify authenticity independently. We do not authenticate any product. If you have doubts about a perfume's authenticity, do not proceed, and consider reporting the listing as a suspected counterfeit.
- Confirm the details — brand, exact perfume, size, remaining quantity, condition, and price — match what was discussed before you pay.
- Choose a safe, traceable way to pay and receive the item. We do not process payments, provide escrow, or guarantee delivery. Prefer methods that give you some recourse (for example, avoid untraceable cash transfers to strangers for high-value items) and, where practical, meet in a safe public place for in-person exchanges.
- Be cautious of red flags: prices that seem too good to be true, sellers who pressure you to pay immediately or move communication off the Platform, refusal to answer basic questions, or reluctance to provide additional photos.
What we do, and don't, guarantee
We provide tools that help you make a more informed decision — verification badges, ratings tied to completed transactions, and a reporting system — but none of these are a guarantee of a seller's honesty, a product's authenticity, or the outcome of any transaction. [Legal Entity Name Pending] is not liable for any loss, damage, or dispute arising from a transaction between users. See our Terms & Conditions for the full disclaimer.
If something goes wrong
If you believe a listing is fraudulent, counterfeit, or otherwise violates our policies, use Report Listing on the listing page, or Report User on the seller's profile. Suspected counterfeit reports are prioritised by our moderation team. For anything else, contact us at support@example.com.
